Upon arrival in Luxor, our team will meet you and assist with embarkation on your elegant sailing yacht (dahabiya). After settling in, visit the magnificent Karnak and Luxor Temples. Following lunch, our team will escort you to the west bank of the Nile to explore the Valley of the Kings and Queens, as well as the impressive Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari.
In the morning, your dahabiya sets sail toward the Esna Lock. Afterwards, continue your journey to El Kab, one of Egypt’s oldest cities, now an intriguing archaeological site — explore its ancient ruins on a scenic donkey ride. The voyage then continues to Edfu, where, after lunch, you will visit the magnificent Temple of Horus. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Egyptian barbecue dinner on board.
Sail to Gebel el-Silsila, the ancient sandstone quarry where the stones for Egypt’s great temples were once hewn. After the excursion, continue sailing south and spend the night moored at a tranquil island near Kom Ombo.
After breakfast, visit the twin temples of Sobek and Haroeris in Kom Ombo. Afterwards, your dahabiya continues its serene voyage toward Aswan. Enjoy lunch and dinner on board.
Today, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Aswan’s main market, which stretches across seven lively streets parallel to the Nile. The bustling market is filled with colorful stalls offering Nubian handicrafts, perfumes, fragrant oils, lamps, linen and silk textiles, spices, and unique Nubian treasures.
Today, you will visit the High Dam of Lake Nasser, the Unfinished Obelisk, and Elephantine Island. In the afternoon, drive to Abu Simbel to embark on your Nile cruise across Lake Nasser. Enjoy a fascinating journey as you sail from Abu Simbel to Aswan, taking in the timeless beauty of the lake and its surrounding landscapes.
Today, you will visit the magnificent Great Temple of Ramses II, which was carefully relocated to higher ground during the construction of the Nasser Reservoir. Your tour also includes a visit to the Temple of Nefertari, dedicated to Ramses II’s beloved queen and one of the most remarkable women of ancient Egypt.
Today, you will explore the four rock chapels of Kasr Ibrim, followed by visits to the temples of Tuthmosis III and Amenophis II at Amada, and the rock-cut Temple of El Derr. You will also visit the temples dedicated to Amun and Re-Harakhte, as well as the reconstructed Temples of Dakka, honoring Amun, Pnubs, and Tefnut. The journey then continues to Aswan.
This morning, you will board your return flight from Zurich or Geneva. Our travel representative will assist you with flight and customs formalities to ensure a smooth and comfortable journey home.
